Attend this free workshop to learn about innovative air quality tools communities can use to monitor their environment\, including the Spidey Sens-r Network!  \nAttendees will learn how to identify and collect webs\, log coordinates\, and send them to the lab where the type and amount of metals in the sample can be identified. Click here to learn more and to register for this amazing workshop.

SUMMARY:Webinar: An Equitable Carbon Plan for NC
DESCRIPTION:By the end of this year\, the NC Utilities Commission (NCUC) will publish a state Carbon Plan that is supposed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from North Carolina electricity generation 70% below 2005 levels by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. \nDuke Energy’s approach to decarbonization involves very large amounts of new fracked gas infrastructure and new nukes\, and woefully inadequate solar and storage capacity and energy-saving programs. \nOn October 26 NC WARN and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg NAACP will outline a very different vision for an NC Carbon Plan. It has no new gas or nukes\, but lots more solar plus storage\, and it avoids perpetuating the environmental justice issues of the past. Join their free webinar to hear more from: \n\nBill Powers\, environmental engineer\, author of NC Clean Path 2025\nTina Katsanos\, Charlotte-Mecklenburg NAACP\nModerator: Sally Robertson\, NC WARN policy coordinator\n\nLearn more and register here.
