Nicole Forlan, DNP, WHNP-BC, IBCLC is an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina School of Nursing and a women’s health nurse practitioner with clinical expertise in reproductive, maternal-newborn, and lactation care. Her work centers on health equity, population health, and culturally responsive care, with a particular focus on supporting women, birthing people, infants, and families across diverse communities. As an educator, clinician, and lactation consultant, Dr. Forlan is passionate about preparing nurses to understand the broader social, environmental, and policy factors that shape health outcomes. She is honored to contribute her maternal-newborn and population health perspective to CleanAIRE NC’s efforts to advance healthier communities through clean air advocacy, education, and systems-level change.
