At CleanAIRE NC we advocate for the health of all North Carolinians by pursuing equitable and collaborative solutions that address climate change and air pollution. We focus on three powerful determinants of public health: air pollution, climate change, and environmental justice.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The impacts of air pollution, including, but not limited to concentrated animal feeding operations and industrial sources, disproportionately impact the health of communities of color, low-income residents, and indigenous people in Eastern NC. Based in Sampson County, EJCAN and CANC are hiring a local Project Coordinator to aid in tasks associated with an air quality monitoring EPA established grant project. The project will provide the basis for developing and scaling the initiative as a state and national, evidence-based model of an air quality monitoring project based on the principles and practices of community partnerships, community engagement, quality data collection and control, and environmental justice.
The Sampson County Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of community engagement of the project. In partnership with CANC, the coordinator will create and maintain relationships with affected communities and provide technical assistance, training, and other capacity-building services to advance equitable health outcomes for those most vulnerable to the impacts of pollution in Sampson County.
