CleanAIRE NC is excited to announce that our former health initiative, NC Clinicians for Climate Action, has spun-off to form its own clinician-led organization. There’s been a growing interest among health professionals in addressing the health impacts of climate change, and among hospital systems to engage in sustainable practices. We are eager to facilitate that growth.
CleanAIRE NC’s former Health Manager, pediatrician Stephanie Johannes, MD, leads the new organization which will raise awareness of the health equity impacts of climate change and will collaborate with medical schools and health care systems to improve sustainability and climate-preparedness in the healthcare sector. NC Clinicians for Climate Action serves as the North Carolina Chapter of the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health, joining over 30 other clinician-led groups across the country.
CleanAIRE NC will partner with NCCCA on educational initiatives as our goals intersect. NCCCA is currently recruiting clinicians for leadership positions. Please contact Stephanie at [email protected] if you or someone you know is interested in building this important movement.
