David B. Peden

Dr. David B. Peden is the Harry S. Andrews Professor of Pediatrics, Medicine and Microbiology/Immunology as serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Translational Research, Immunology and Rheumatology, and Associate Director, Center for Environmental Medicine, Asthma & Lung Biology for the UNC School of Medicine (SOM). He also has secondary appointments in the Departments of Epidemiology and Environmental Science & Engineering in the Gillings School of Global Public Health (SPH) and the Department of Surgery in the SOM.  Dr. Peden received his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology degrees from West Virginia University and completed his residency and chief residency in Pediatrics at West Virginia University Medical Center. His fellowship training in allergy and immunology was completed at the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in Bethesda, Maryland.
