Empower Yourself to Make a Difference

The NC Climate Ambassadors Program provides an opportunity for you to learn the latest about climate change impacts on North Carolina communities, solutions available right now that would decrease greenhouse gas emissions and create jobs, and how to communicate these issues to everyone from members of your book group to your state representatives.

Tools Provided

Participants will receive a set of tools from the training, including:

  • 1-hour version of the training to use in presentations
  • Handouts with notes and citations for the slides and posts
  • Access to a shared Google drive with these materials and the recorded webinars, which will be regularly updated with new information
  • Quarterly meetings for updates on climate solutions, with featured speakers relevant to North Carolina climate solutions
  • Ongoing support and information on meetings, seminars, and other opportunities offered by CleanAIRE NC, Path to Positive Communities, and ecoAmerica

Training Overview

The NC Climate Ambassadors training covers the impacts of climate change on humans, the implications for North Carolina, as well as solutions that directly engage local and civic leaders and can be implemented today. Market-tested communications tools and frameworks for application are likewise tailored for local community leaders. Businesses and organizations can request a specialized training for their employees.

Training Format

  • 3 Hour Ambassador Training – Webinar or In Person
For participants to be granted official North Carolina Climate Ambassador designation, we currently offer comprehensive training through two 90-minute webinars. The format includes a mixture of information-sharing and practical suggestions to build knowledge, skill, and confidence.
  • 1 Hour Orientation (optional)
ecoAmerica offers an orientation webinar on the North Carolina Climate Ambassadors program following the full training, which provides an overview of the program, resources and support available to trained ambassadors, and a Q&A session for participants.
