Air Permitting 101: An Overview of Air Quality Permitting in North Carolina

Trying to navigate North Carolina’s air quality permitting process? Need guidance on how (and when) to submit public comments on air emission sources? Then watch Air Permitting 101!

Last week CleanAIRE NC Policy Associate Andrew Rasetti was joined by Mark Cuilla and Heather Sands from NC DEQ’s Division of Air Quality to go through the in’s and out’s of air quality permitting in North Carolina, shed some light on the relevant laws and rules that regulators must address when considering a permit to pollute in our state, and provide guidance for advocates looking to submit effective public comments on air emission sources.

If you were unable to attend the webinar, you can watch the recording of the presentation below.  A PDF of the presentation is available here. You can also view the slides used in the presentation here. If you’re looking for more detail, you can also view a more detailed version of that presentation that covers additional information requested by permitting staff and used in the permitting process.
