Next month CleanAIRE NC will recognize North Carolinians who have shown extraordinary commitment to tackling the climate crisis with the 2023 Blue Sky Awards.
The 2023 Blue Sky Awards will be presented at the environmental organization’s annual fundraising event, a CleanAIRE Affair, at Charlotte’s Discovery Place Science Museum (301 N. Tryon Street) on the evening of Saturday, November 4, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Each year CleanAIRE NC honors individuals, organizations, and partners for their dedication to combatting climate change and air pollution in North Carolina. This year’s award recipients include environmental justice advocate Sherri White-Williamson, community leader Ron Ross, electric vehicle proponent Ray Addison, CleanAIRE NC Board Chair Kwame Alexander, and educator Yancey Fouché with the Davidson Sustainability Scholars program. The annual awards ceremony will be the highlight of a CleanAIRE Affair. The evening will also celebrate the past year’s victories and progress toward climate solutions while looking ahead to 2024’s priorities.
A CleanAIRE Affair is free to attend, with free parking available for all guests. All proceeds from the fundraiser will directly support CleanAIRE NC’s 2024 programming. Food and drinks will be provided for all attendees. CleanAIRE Affair tickets can be reserved at CleanAIREnc.org/Affair.
