Press Release: Save the Date for 2024 Charlotte Earth Day

CleanAIRE NC and Sol Nation join to host Charlotte’s third annual Earth Day Celebration and NC Environmental Film Screening

CleanAIRE NC and Sol Nation are thrilled to announce the return of the annual Charlotte Earth Day celebration, which will be held on Saturday, April 20th at the Charlotte Museum of History, rain or shine. The free event will offer attendees a memorable Earth Day filled with hands-on activities, environmental and history education, and family fun.

According to Madison Fragnito, CleanAIRE NC’s Partnership Manager, “Charlotte families care about their environment. Earth Day is an opportunity to come together, celebrate, and learn about all of the great work local organizations are doing. Families can participate in S.T.E.A.M. activities, environmental storytelling, and learn more about changes to their local environment.”

Dozens of local organizations that work to improve our environment and community will be organized under four thematic Knowledge Stations for families to explore with a free ‘Earth Passport’. Each of these knowledge stations will host exciting and inspiring activities to guide you through the museum grounds.

“As proud partners of the Charlotte Earth Day celebration, Sol Nation is committed to raising awareness about environmental justice and empowering local communities to advocate for a sustainable future,” says Tiffany Fant, Executive Director of Sol Nation, “This event embodies our shared mission to drive positive change and inspire collective action towards a greener, more equitable North Carolina.”

In the evening from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, The Charlotte Museum of History will feature a special film screening showcasing two powerful documentaries that highlight the diverse impacts we have on our cherished land and ecosystems, and the individuals fighting to protect them.

Charlotte Earth Day is free to attend, and meal tickets will be available for purchase.
