Kayla Cox is a seasoned communications and organizing strategist with more than a decade of experience navigating North Carolina’s political, cultural, and environmental landscapes. She currently serves as Director of Marketing at CleanAIRE NC, where she leads brand strategy, storytelling, and audience engagement initiatives with a focus on equity, clarity, and impact.

Over the past ten years, Kayla has held key leadership roles in statewide advocacy organizations, including serving as State Digital Director for NextGen North Carolina and Eastern Field Secretary for the North Carolina NAACP. Her work has consistently centered the voices and experiences of rural and BIPOC communities, with an eye toward exposing, and strategically addressing, economic, electoral, and environmental disparities.

In her role at CleanAIRE NC, Kayla looks forward to deepening the organization’s impact through bold storytelling, strategic clarity, and authentic community connection in places where the stakes are high and the voices have long gone unheard.
