
Kennedy Williams is a dedicated environmental advocate with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and a minor in Political Science from Howard University. Throughout her academic career, she gained valuable experience as a White House intern with the Council on Environmental Quality, where she played a key role in advancing environmental policies. Additionally, Kennedy represented Howard University in South Africa, where she studied energy equity and environmental policies in the region. Kennedy is also a co-author of an academic research project focused on environmental issues in California, further solidifying her expertise in the field.
In her previous role as Community Engagement Coordinator at CleanAIRE NC, Kennedy led initiatives to raise awareness about air quality and strengthen community involvement. Her outreach efforts in Mecklenburg County included collaborations with the City of Charlotte, Sol Nation, the Historic West End Green District, and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Climate Leaders (CMCL).
She is deeply committed to advancing environmental justice, particularly for low-income and BIPOC communities disproportionately affected by climate change. Kennedy strives to expand her activism, using her voice to address systemic inequalities and promote environmental equity.
