Sophie Leruth

Health Manager

Sophie is a health policy professional dedicated to advancing collaborative, evidence-based policy, research, and advocacy solutions that create a more livable society for all. 

Prior to her role as Health Manager with CleanAIRE NC, Sophie worked for years as a policy consultant specializing in Medicaid policy to improve health outcomes among populations facing increased health risk throughout the United States. In this role she gained valuable experience working in partnership with states, providers, policymakers, researchers, and advocates to improve health care quality and access in innovative ways. She also has experience at the federal level working as a contracted legal epidemiologist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Sophie holds a Master of Public Health degree in Health Policy & Management with a Certificate in Social Determinants of Health from Emory University. She also earned a double-major in Politics & International Affairs and Spanish from Wake Forest University. She is dedicated to using her expertise to eliminate health disparities exacerbated by poor climate conditions that disproportionately impact her fellow North Carolinians. 

In her free time, Sophie enjoys knitting, reading, and connecting with her loved ones.
