We’re thrilled to announce that registration is officially open for the 2024 NC BREATHE Conference, taking place on October 2nd in Durham, NC!
The JB Duke Hotel
230 Science Drive
Durham, NC 27708
The 9th annual NC BREATHE Conference, presented by CleanAIRE NC, returns to explore the relationship between environmental health and human well-being.
Human health and our built and natural environments are deeply interconnected. Poor environmental conditions and exposures can lead to a range of health issues, including chronic respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses, cancer, the spread of infectious diseases, and poor mental health outcomes. Climate change serves to exacerbate these issues further. And while all communities are affected, marginalized and vulnerable populations are consistently and disproportionately impacted.
To address these challenges, it’s crucial to develop evidence-informed solutions. We need a multidisciplinary approach to understanding specific climate and environmental health drivers and their associated health impacts.

NC BREATHE 2024 will connect science to practice, bringing thought leaders, students, and experts together to explore environmental health factors (e.g., air quality, PFAS, heat exposure, workplaces, etc.) and their impact on human health and well-being. It will also highlight the vital role of cross-disciplinary efforts and research and the critical role of government, policy, community, and strategic partnerships to identify practical solutions that ensure all communities have access to healthy air and environments for an improved quality of life.
Early-bird rates are available until August 31. Secure your spot at NC BREATHE 2024 and be a part of this exciting event!
